HARC Bagels is a family-owned artisan bagel business. The name HARC is an acronym formed from the names of our children, reflecting the family foundation of the company.
HARC Bagels specializes in fresh, small-batch, hand-rolled New York–style bagels, baked daily using high-quality ingredients. Our focus is on delivering a premium product through traditional bagel-making techniques and offering a wide range of unique flavours.
The business began when owner Scott was laid off due to U.S. tariff impacts affecting his industry. While searching for new opportunities, Scott noticed that high-quality bagels were difficult to find in Hamilton. He began baking bagels at home and sharing them with friends and local community members. The overwhelmingly positive feedback inspired the launch of HARC Bagels as a business.
HARC Bagels initially began by supplying bagels to a small number of local businesses before expanding into farmers’ markets, starting with the Ottawa Street Farmers’ Market. Since then, the business has participated in several markets across the Hamilton region while expanding its product offerings and flavour selection.
